Do you feel that today's musicians have properly prepared to “master” their instruments or just get by?
I am growing weary of the 3 chord wonder songs…kind of like the Barry Manilow formula in the 70's. I'll bet the kids of today could actually master their instruments if they took more than 2 months of lessons and didn't just all sing while using the “pros” as their back-up band. Thoughts?

Today people are going to watch Britney spears and her fake concerts. You know the ones, with no band on stage but their is still music
The ones where she can run , hop, skip, jump and dance and is so out of breath she can't talk but can still sing
We are not suppose to realize she is lip sinking
People pay good money to watch this fake stuff but won't take time to stop and drop change for a street mime
I wonder how many even notice their isn't a band on stage.
I wonder how many even notice the lip sinking.
Today is all image building , if they look cool , then who needs to hone their talent .
Hell just buy a guitar that looks good and hire someone good in a studio. Who cares if it can be done for real. It's all image, sell the fake concert , the fans will come.

he will go on stage and play a 2 note guitar solo to his songs.
except he plays with his thumb only and he can't even play chords, just those two notes on the 15th and 17th fret.
except he uses a 5000 dollar guitar to look like a "Rocker G thug, whatever the **** he tries to be"
